New M-1 Challenge Team And Logo Competition Announced
The transnational combat sports league "M-1 Mixfight" has announced a contest to find an official logo for their new M-1 Challenge team. This team will be comprised of elite Russian fighters and its captain will be none other than the world famous WAMMA Heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko (28-1-0-1nc).
Fedor is one of the World's most recognisable MMA stars and is the former PRIDE World Heavyweight Champion and the winner of the 2004 PRIDE Grand Prix Tournament. Known in some circles as the “Last Emperor” Fedor will Captain the Imperial Team which will feature in future M-1 Challenge events.
To celebrate the announcement of this new team, the M-1 management team have decided to launch a competition to design an official logo for this brand new M-1 Challenge team. The winner for this unique competition will receive a free trip to one of the M-1 Challenge events; which includes a one day free stay at a hotel and two tickets to the VIP zone at a M-1 Challenge event.

M-1 Challenge Coming to the UK in September
Don't forget this prestigious International event is coming to the UK on September 27th, thanks to the team at Warrior Promotions, owners of Cage Warriors Fighting Championship. As a pre-cursor to introducing the first ever British Team into the M-1 Challenge Tournament next year, this ground breaking UK organisation will be hosting a M-1 Chhalenge event in Nottingham which will see four of the most acclaimed teams in the 2008 tournament battling it out in pursuit of national pride and personal glory.
The four teams competing in Nottingham hoping to qualify for the finals in Japan on New Year's Eve will be; Red Devils vs USA & Russia Legion vs Europe. All four teams will be taking part in a total of 10 international super-bouts.
Plus there will be an additional 3 "Superfights" which includes the eagerly awaited Heavyweight rematch between local favourite and former Pro boxing star Wayne Buck, as he attempts to seek redemption against the Italian Muay Thai fighter Matteo "The Brutal" Minonzio. Whilst the “Self-proclaimed UK number 1 Lightweight” Ian "M-16" Butlin takes on the CFC British Champion AJ Wenn in a Lightweight Superfight. And in the Middleweight division two Cage Warriors regulars square off as Cliff Hall faces the Tap or Snap fighter Christian Smith in an exciting local derby.
As well as this exciting and innovative event; Warrior Promotions are also proud to announce a seminar featuring the former Pride FC star and current Red Devil Team Member & Coach, Aleksander Emelianenko. This international star is the younger brother of the formidable WAMMA Heavyweight Champion Fedor Emelianenko, and sports an impressive MMA record of 11-3 having fought some of the best names in the MMA world. He will be conducting a seminar with his team and will be looking to pass on some of the skills which have seen his team rise to the top of the MMA tree.
That's not all as UK MMA Legend Ian ‘The Machine’ Freeman, the young upcoming MMA star & current Cage Warriors Champion, Gegard Mousasi and the UFC Welterweight Protégé Dan “The Outlaw” Hardy will also be attending this Seminar and the M-1 Challenge show later on in the day.
