Fighters weigh in for CW91 in Wales

Despite raging snow storms halting transport and causing major disruption across the country, all fighters weighed in successfully for Cage Warriors’ sell-out Welsh event. CW91 will go ahead!

CW91’s main event will see Wales’ Josh Reed, who weighed in at 136 lbs, clash with Belgium’s Brian Bouland, who tipped the scales at 135.9 lbs. With both fighters possessing legitimate knockout power and bringing a non-stop pace to rival any in the bantamweight division, this looks to be a potential fight of the night contender.

The CW91 co-main event will see Ross Houston meet Aaron Khalid for the second time after their incredible back-and-forth war at CW87 last year. Both fighters agreed on a 176 lbs catchweight. It’s now time to refuel, re-charge and prepare to put on a showing to rival their last.

Elsewhere on the card, Richard Williams weighed in at 154.1 lbs ahead of his bout with Donovan Desmae, coming in at 155.1 lbs. This is the second Wales vs Belgium clash on the night, and will see these two rising lightweights battle to knock the other off the ladder to the top of the division. Both have the number one spot in their sights, but only one man can step closer to it at CW91. Gavin Kelly made 135 lbs and Kris Edwards 135.8 lbs for their bantamweight match up, and Cory Mckenna, a promising and so far undefeated prospect, weighed in at 114.7 lbs for her first professional fight. Her opponent, the Italian Maria Vittoria Colonna, came in at 115.3 lbs.

It’s going to take more than just a blizzard to stop these fighters locking heads tomorrow night at CW91. Cage Warriors would like to thank all who made it on location for the official Iso Sport weigh-in event, and all fighters and coaches who checked in with video weigh-ins due to the harsh weather conditions here in Wales.

The CW91 main card will be televised live in the UK and Ireland on BT Sport 1 from 9pm. It’ll also be shown across Europe on Viaplay and ELEVEN Sports Network, as well as being streamed worldwide on UFC Fight Pass. The preliminary card will be streamed exclusively live and free via the Cage Warriors Facebook page from 7.30pm.
