Cage Warriors confirm a further ten fighters for their September 1st card, including ex-Welterweight champion and UFC vet Nicolas Dalby, surging lightweight prospect Jack Grant and Liverpool names Shawn Kenny, Elliot Jenkins, Coner Hignett and more.
CW96, a card which will see Liverpool heroes Paddy Pimblett and Lee Chadwick go for gold in two massive world title fights, just got bigger with the addition of some of Europe’s hottest fighting talent.
Nicolas Dalby, fighting off the back of an incredible 5-round war with now-UFC hopeful Carlo Pedersoli at CW93, steps back into the octagon looking to begin a rise back to title contention in the stacked Welterweight division. One of the most exciting fighters ever to strap on the Cage Warriors gloves, Dalby won the title back in 2014 and embarked on a 4-fight run with the UFC before returning to Europe’s leading MMA promotion with that same belt in his sights.
Now riding a 5-fight win streak, Jack Grant has made a name for himself in the lightweight division with a 93% finish rate and one of the most dynamic styles on the European scene. His last visit to Liverpool at Cage Warriors 88 saw him finish Perry Goodwin with a vicious knockout in the first round, and he’ll be hoping to impress once again at the Echo Arena to move one step further to the title which Paddy Pimblett and Søren Bak will fight for later in the night.

After losing a close flyweight title fight with Nathan Greyson at CW92 in March, top contender Sam Creasey returns hoping to step back into the win column. Also on the card are Liverpool fighters Shawn Kenny, Elliot Jenkins and Adam Ventre, all teammates of Paddy Pimblett at Next Generation MMA.
Kenny is known for his serious knockout power which he displayed with a finish at CW82, and is fighting to return to winning ways after a loss to Ruben Wolf in one of the craziest heavyweight fights in Cage Warriors history earlier this year. Ventre and Jenkins took less than a round to submit their opponents in their last fights.
One of the best heavyweight fights we’ve seen in years!! 🔥👏

Coner ‘Hand Grenade’ Hignett, fresh of a first-round knockout win in May, makes his Cage Warriors debut on September 1st. Mick Stanton, who was victorious over Josh McManus at the Echo Arena at CW88, will also feature alongside Anthony O’Connor, who has impressed at Cage Warriors’ North West Academy over the last two years.
Ferocious finisher and Academy champion Liam Gittins, who stormed through the Academy ranks with a near-perfect record as an amateur, makes his first Cage Warriors appearance on the pro undercard looking to climb the professional ranks in front of the biggest crowd of his career to date.
2018 is a monumental year for MMA in Liverpool, with the hugely successful UFC Liverpool drawing eyes around the world to the city and its fighters earlier this year. On September 1st, Liverpool’s next generation of talent will look to prove why their city is fast becoming one of the top destinations on the planet for rising stars.
