Before 2 huge world title fights top the CW96 bill on September 1st, fans can expect a stacked undercard filled with some of the most exciting names on the European scene. 5 new fights have been announced, featuring top lightweight contenders Jack Grant and Aleksi Mäntykivi, former title challenger Sam Creasey and a huge heavyweight clash between two local fan favourites.
When the Cage Warriors party returns to the Echo Arena, fans will have plenty of home town talent to get behind and prove once again why the Liverpool crowd is one of the best in the world.
Heavyweight Shawn Kenny had the Echo Arena crowd on their feet during Cage Warriors’ last visit to Liverpool, when he went toe-to-toe with Ruben Wolf in one of the wildest fights of the year. Kenny’s power and ferocious fight style guarantees an entertaining showing every time, and his CW96 bout against Callum Cook looks to be no different. With Cook fighting off the back of two knockout victories in 2017, this could be another heavyweight war for the ages under the Echo Arena lights!

Also representing Liverpool on September 1st is Elliot Jenkins. Jenkins submitted his last opponent in the first round at CW90, keeping his 100% finish rate intact and taking his record to 5-1. He’ll face Mahmod Faour, a prospect fighting out of Hamburg, Germany looking for the upset win.
Both of the above Liverpool fighters are training partners of lightweight sensation Paddy Pimblett, perhaps the biggest European MMA star outside of the UFC, who fights for the lightweight title at CW96. Lee Chadwick, the current Middleweight Champion, will defend his belt against Jonas Billstein on the same night.

Also recently announced for the CW96 bill is Mick ‘the Huyton Hammer’ Stanton, who’s last win came at CW88 last October. The Cage Warriors Welterweight division is perhaps the strongest it’s ever been, and Stanton is fighting to ensure Liverpool has a top contender in the ranks. Facing Stanton on September 1st is Mush ‘The Beast’ Aslani, boasting a recent win over Matthew Bonner, who submitted Stanton in his last Cage Warriors appearance.
“As always, the talent that the city of Liverpool is providing in 2018 is off the charts, and we’re featuring some of the best we could find,” says Cage Warriors President Graham Boylan. “For some of these guys, September 1st is a chance to launch themselves into the spotlight. For others, it’s about defending the city against some big names trying to take those world titles away.”
2 further fights recently announced are Jack Grant vs Aleksi Mäntykivi in the lightweight division, and a flyweight clash between former title challenger Sam Creasey and Liverpool’s Coner ‘Hand Grenade’ Hignett. Grant and Mäntykivi are two proven finishers who have looked incredible in their last performances – the winner will have their eyes firmly on the lightweight title fight going down in the CW96 main event. For Creasey, the road back to the title begins here, but Hignett has 5 submissions to his name and is hell bent on adding another to his resume against one of the top names in the division.

CW96 will top off the biggest year of MMA in Liverpool’s history, with UFC Liverpool proving a huge success earlier in the year, and local fighters Chris Fishgold and Molly McCann being signed by the UFC after winning Cage Warriors titles.
