With just over 24 hours to go until bell time, the CW 200 athletes hit the scales at Dublin’s Sandymount Hotel on Friday morning. Two title fights and a stacked undercard take centre stage as Europe’s Leading MMA Organisation presents a milestone event for Mixed Martial Arts in the region.
Both title fights are official for the landmark card, after all participants successfully hit their marks at the first time of asking. Newly crowned featherweight world champion Solomon Simon and challenger Nik Bagley both looked cool, calm and collected on the scales at 144.9lbs apiece.
The middleweights also matched each other on the scales. Challenger Paddy McCorry registered a weight of 184.4lbs, before champion Dario Bellandi followed suit soon afterwards.
Elsewhere on the bill, Pedro Silva opted not to cut further weight after tipping the scales at 146.9lbs for his featherweight clash with Damien McKenna. The fight will go ahead, with the Brazilian being fined a percentage of his purse. Scott Harvey and Kenny Mokhonoana needed additional time to hit their marks, but did so successfully within the two-hour window.
Oton Jasse registered a weight of 176.7lbs for his bout with Andreeas Binder. The Brazilian returned to weigh 176.2lbs on his second attempt, whereupon a catchweight was agreed.
