With just over 24 hours to go until showtime, thirty fighters stepped onto the the scales at the Hilton Hotel in Rome on Friday morning, ahead of Saturday night’s CW 158.
The evening’s main event – a clash for the Cage Warriors flyweight title – is official, after both challenger Michele Martignoni (124.4lbs) and champion Shaj Haque (124.6lbs) made championship weight.
The bout will mark Martignoni’s second bid for CW gold, after successfully contesting (and subsequently vacating) the bantamweight championship last October.
Haque will make the first defence of the title he captured from Sam Creasey in stunning fashion last December.
Only Florian Doskja needed additional time to make weight, originally tipping the scales at 130.2lbs for his 130lb catchweight contest with Amir Malekpour.
As there is no 1lb allowance for catchweight bouts, Doskja was given two additional hours to make weight, and did so successfully.
