To celebrate National Armed Forces Day on June 30th, Europe’s leading MMA promotion confirm an official partnership with REORG, a nonprofit charity helping veterans to rehabilitate through Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
The REORG Jiu Jitsu Foundation, in association with The Royal Marines Charity, provides a platform for serving personnel and veterans to learn Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as part of their recovery pathway. Cage Warriors are long-time advocates of using martial arts to improve both physical and mental health, and are delighted to announce that REORG are now their official military charity.
“Cage Warriors have shown outstanding support to REORG Jiu Jitsu Foundation and the U.K military as a whole. Their athletes are some of the very best in the fight game and we take every opportunity to support CW events. Warriors support warriors!” – CSGT Sam Sheriff, Founder of REORG Jiu Jitsu Foundation & Royal Marines Jiu Jitsu.
The REORG banner will now have a regular spot in the Cage Warriors octagon on fight night, and the two brands will be working in partnership to promote former and serving military athletes. REORG’s list of ambassador’s include British actor Tom Hardy and TV star Ant Middleton, an ex-Special Forces sniper.
“Cage Warriors partnering with REORG is fantastic news,” says Middleton. “There’s a number of military guys, both serving and veterans, on the CW roster that are doing very well for themselves and it’s great to see. Aligning REORG with such a legitimate MMA brand is great for all involved.”
The first Cage Warriors event following this new partnership is CW95 in London on July 21st. To mark this new partnership, the promotion have recently gifted 100 free tickets to the event to the Tickets for Troops charity, and are delighted to have so many U.K troops in attendance. Look out for the REORG banner inside the octagon on July 21st!
