Cage Warriors – Europe’s Leading MMA Organisation – has today revealed its return to Cardiff for CW 156.

The event will take place at the City of Castles’ Vale Sports Arena on Saturday, July 1st, 2023, as part of the promotion’s packed summer schedule.

The event is CW’s first in Wales since last summer’s CW 142 in Ebbw Vale, and its first in Cardiff since CW 108 in 2019, where future two-weight CW champion Mason ‘The Dragon’ Jones defeated Aleksi Mäntykivi over three rounds in the main event.

CW 156 could prove to be another star-making night for a local favourite, as ‘The Welsh Gangster’ Oban Elliott is confirmed as one of the first Welsh dragons to feature on the bill.

After a banner 2022 in which he notched up three consecutive wins over the likes of former CW champion Matt Bonner and middleweight prospect Sean McCormac, Elliott recently kicked off his 2023 campaign in style, besting fellow contender James Sheehan over three rounds.

Oban Elliott is on the title hunt

Also confirmed to compete are the likes of Rory Evans, Scott Pedersen and Owain Williams.

Tickets for the event go on general sale this Friday, May 12th, at 11am UK time, however fans can sign up for access to an exclusive presale to take place on Thursday 11th, May 11th, at 11am.

“We’ve got a stacked roster of over two hundred athletes from all corners of the globe…” said CW President Graham Boylan.

“That means we’ve got to keep them busy, so we’ve added another date to our 2023 world tour.”

“Oban Elliott got a huge win walking into enemy territory last month, now he gets the chance to show off his skills on home soil.”

“We’ve had some incredible events in Cardiff over the years, I’m expecting the crowd to be just as electric on July 1st!”

CW 156 joins an already packed summer of CW action, including dates in San Diego, London and Rome.

With more fighters and initial bouts to be announced in the coming weeks, fans can look forward to kicking off the season in style with Cage Warriors!
