Cage Warriors have teamed up with British MMA legend and pioneer Ian ‘The Machine’ Freeman and Machine MMA to establish a pathway to the pinnacle of the sport for fighters in the North East of England.
Having promoted mixed martial events for over 20 years, Freeman – the first British fighter to compete in the UFC – originally founded the Machine MMA promotion in 2012. The platform has showcased hundreds of athletes across close to fifty events in the time since.
The Cage Warriors X Machine MMA partnership will see a number of standout Machine MMA champions selected throughout the year to receive Cage Warriors contracts and compete for Europe’s Leading MMA Organisation on UFC Fight Pass.
Speaking about the partnership today, Freeman said… “The Machine family have been making history for years. Myself being the first ever British fighter to fight in the UFC. My daughter, Kennedy ‘The Machine 2.0’ Freeman and I being the first ever father and daughter to fight in Cage Warriors and the UFC.”

“Now the Machine family partner up with Cage Warriors to make amateur MMA fighters’ dreams come true with a pathway to becoming a professional with ‘The Road To Cage Warriors’.”
“All my 25 years of hard work has finally paid off. I couldn’t be any more happy and excited to start this new venture. Amateurs need a pathway and now they have it. Thank you Cage Warriors. You have made every amateur in the UK now have a goal they can reach.”
Cage Warriors next returns to the North East of England on Saturday, September 13th for CW 193, where fans can once again witness the best the region has to offer testing their mettle against elite opposition from the UK, Europe and beyond!
