With just over 24 hours to go until bell time, the athletes competing at CW 202: Manchester took to the scales at Manchester’s Holiday Inn hotel on Friday morning, as the double-header weekend of action in the Famous Yellow Gloves got into full swing.
The lightweight world title unification bout is set, after both interim champion Omiel Brown and reigning champion Samuel Silva made championship weight at 154.9lbs.
Nathan Fletcher (135.3) looked comfortable on the scales for his CW return, as he takes on Brazil’s Thyago SIlva (134lbs).
Silva’s brother Iago needed extra time to make 125.9lbs, after originally tipping the scales at 127lbs even for his bout with Joe Fields (125.8lbs).
Mariusz Mikołajewski also needed additional time, returning within the two hour window to hit 170.6lbs for his welterweight clash with Chris Morris (170.3).
Shay Ingram was unable to make his contracted weight for his battle of the prospects against Torpal Merjoev (155.6lbs). The Fridge made multiple attempts, but made the call to stop cutting at 156.3lbs. Ingram will be fined a percentage of his purse, and the fight will go ahead as scheduled.
