For just the second time in history, a reigning Cage Warriors champion will compete on Dana White’s Contender Series this Tuesday night. Samuel ‘Caveira’ Silva will step up and swap the Famous Yellow Gloves of Cage Warriors for the pale blue DWSC mitts as he looks to impress UFC head honcho Dana White and earn a contract to compete in the world famous Octagon.

Silva debuted straight into a Cage Warriors title fight earlier this year, stepping in at the eleventh hour to challenge George Hardwick for the 155lbs gold.

What ensued was one of the most memorable wars in CW history, with the champion edging the early rounds before the challenger showed incredible grit, heart and tenacity to battle back and and earn a unanimous points victory.

The result sent shockwaves through the MMA world and instantly catapulted Silva into the conversation around future CW stars with the potential to make the leap to the UFC.

Just months later the DWSC call came through. Silva is slated to face Canadian finisher Mandel ‘Mango’ Nallo, a regional champion who has never been the distance in 16 professional fights.

That all-action style will be exactly what Silva is hoping for in an opponent; a perfect opportunity to use his methodical, counter-based brawling style.

Fans are already calling it one of the most anticipated DWSC bouts of the season, on one of the most stacked episodes so far.

Will Samuel Silva be the first Cage Warriors alumni to earn a UFC contract on this seasons of DWSC? All the action goes down this Tuesday, September 2nd, live on UFC Fight Pass!
