With Cage Warriors hotly anticipated return to Glasgow peering above the horizon, what better time to take a look down the stacked fight card and remind ourselves exactly why our proverbial mouths are watering at the prospect of another thrilling fight night at the Braehead Arena.

Tickets for CW 187 are availible here!

Sean Clancy Jr vs Andrey Augusto

It was the biggest fight of Scottish prodigy Sean Clancy Jr’s career, and certainly the most dangerous. The young cub was stepping in with an old lion in the form of Brazil’s notoriously difficult to deal with Andrey Augusto; a huge step up in competition.

As Clancy got to work against his man at CW 181, it quickly became apparent why the stout grappler had only been finished once in 24 professional bouts. The Scot was undeterred though, and in the third and final round, was able to pull off a closing salvo for the ages.

Chris Bungard vs Perry Goodwin

No Bungy, no party. The party atmosphere was certainly out in full force when Chris ‘The Bad Guy’ Bungard took on fellow fan favourite Perry ‘The Predator’ Goodwin at CW 164. The pair blew the roof of the Vertu Motors Arena, and that was just with their walkouts.

When the bell rang it was Bungard’s night though; the square go’er dropped his man clean before sealing the deal with a vice-tight rear naked choke.

Paull McBain vs Alberth Dias

If history has taught us one thing, its that when the ‘Locomotive’ builds up momentum, there’s little stopping him. Paul McBain does damage with all eight limbs, be it busting opponents up with blunt force trauma or carving them to pieces with elbows and knees.

At CW 171 he put a beating on the notoriously tough Alberth Dias that left the Brazilian cemented to his stool between rounds. Ahead of what could be his retirement fight in Glasgow, why not treat yourself to a rewatch of the whole thing?

Weslley Maia vs Alexander Lรถรถf

London-based Brazilian Weslley Maia has earned a reputation as the guy who’ll fight anyone, any time, anywhere. From making his CW debut against Jack Shore in Cardiff’s Ice Arena on 24 hours notice, to making a quick detour to PFL to defeat their current champion Lewis McGrillan, Weslley Maia has never been afraid of walking into the Lion’s Den.

Performances like this against Alexander Lรถรถf are why; the Magic man has an incredible set of weapons on both the feet and the mat that are quickly making him one of the most feared opponents in the stacked CW bantamweight division.

Reece McEwan vs Sam Spencer

Reece McEwan burst onto the Cage Warriors scene to set his stall out back at CW136, and he did it in style.

Taking on one of the UK bantamweight circuit’s toughest mainstays, McEwan showed that not only could he weather a storm from the best of them, but that if anyone at 135lbs gives him an inch, he’s ready, willing and able to take a mile.

His third round strangulation of Sam Spencer put his peers on notice; could it once again be the weapon of choice at CW 187?

Aidan Stephen vs Jack Collins

Rule one of fighting Aidan Stephen: Do not, under any circumstances, take your back.

The Phenomenal one’s positional grappling is insane, and a problem for anyone on the roster if he’s allowed to impose his will. Whether he’s searching for submissions, shutting down your attempts to unseat him or – as was the case against Jack Collins at CW 113 – dishing out relentless punishment with his fists and elbows, playing the game with Stephen on the ground is a risky proposition.

All the action featuring these stars of Cage Warriors 187: Glasgow and many, many more goes down on Saturday, April 19th at the Braehead Arena. Tickets are available here, with the event airing live on and international broadcast partners.
