Ieuan Davies is the new Cage Warriors lightweight champion of the world, having beaten Omiel Brown in the main event of CW 207 Manchester with a slick submission victory.

The Welshman secured a rear-naked choke just over a minute into the opening round, having escaped a submission attempt from the former champion only seconds earlier.

He now joins the likes of Mason Jones in capturing the lightweight strap and moves to 8-0 as a professional, with six of those victories coming in the famous Yellow Gloves.

In the co-main event, Nathan Fletcher survived an early scare to earn a hard-fought split decision victory over Rony Henrique in the Next Gen fighter’s second bout back in the promotion following a stint in the UFC.

Marin Vetrila made a major statement in the lightweight division, becoming not only the first fighter to finish Shay Ingram but also the first to defeat him with a stunning knockout victory.

The standout performances continued at 155lbs, with Adam Cullen taking bragging rights in a local derby against Carl Jones Jnr, securing a submission victory.

Farshad Nazarnia continued his rise through the middleweight division with an impressive display of grappling and wrestling, defeating promotional newcomer Emile Vujakovic over three rounds.

Opening the main card was a thrilling matchup between two undefeated prospects. It was George Staines who preserved his perfect record, securing a slick second-round submission over Conor McCarthy.

On the prelims, there were statement submission victories for Davi Santos and Jack McLoughlin in the bantamweight division.

Local favourites Josh Carrick, Tom Wright and Nathanael Woods all emerged victorious on what proved to be an incredible night of fights for both the local crowd and neutral fans alike.
