Cage Warriors – Europe’s Leading MMA Organisation – will once again kick off its 2024 world tour with a stop in the Golden State!
Tickets for Cage Warriors 166: San Diego are available here!
The promotion will return to California’s First and Luckiest Casino – The Sycuan Casino Resort – on Friday, February 23rd for CW 166, and the first batch of fighters for the card have been revealed by CW officials this week.
Wilson Reis vs Toby Misech
Chief among the announcements was the confirmation of MMA legend Wilson Reis’ impending return, as he takes on Bellator veteran Toby ‘2 Quick’ Misech.
Local hero Reis will be moving up to the featherweight division for the first time since March 2022, when he earned a points win over Jeremiah Labiano at CW 133. The San Diego-based Brazilian is 3-1 since re-joining the promotion, and will be looking to return to winning ways following a tightly-contested split decision loss to fellow UFC veteran Trevin Jones in September.
Also in search of a return to the winners’ circle is Hawaii’s Toby Misech. A well-travelled striker, Misech holds a win over UFC veteran Erik ‘Goyito’ Perez, and competed on Dana White’s Contender Series in 2018.
Bobby Winther
He may be just two fights into his professional MMA career, but Bobby Winther is already turning heads and establishing himself as ‘one to watch’ in the welterweight division. ‘The Ghost’ snatched up a slick armbar against the heavy-handed Anthony Zaragosa in his last outing, instantly putting the weight class on notice.
Xavier Vines
Slick striker Xavier Vines made quite the impact during his Cage Warriors debut at CW 165 last December. A successful amateur, ‘The Professor’ notched up his second professional victory with a consummate performance against the relentless Miguel Peimbert.
Anthony Orozco
One of the USA’s best credentialled amateurs, California’s Orozco has been making waves in the famous yellow gloves during the formative stages of his pro career. After picking up a pair of TKO victories in 2023, he’ll be looking to build upon that undefeated streak on February 23rd.
Sean Rose
Rough ‘n’ ready slugger Sean Rose will be itching for a return to action on February 23rd, after his CW 165 opponent Diego Vazquez was forced to withdraw at the eleventh hour.
Further fighters and bout announcements for CW 166 will be revealed in the coming weeks. Be sure to follow our social channels @CageWarriors to be first in line for all the news as it happens.
