Welcome to our latest edition of Meet the PrizeFighters; as we take a look at the six welterweights competing for an incredible $50,000 cash prize and a shot at the Cage Warriors welterweight title!
Henri Lintula
Age: 33
Record: 8-1 (1 T/KO, 7 Sub)
Nationality: Finnish
Finland’s Henri Lintula is another intriguing addition to our cast of PrizeFighter characters.
A six-foot-four grappler, he poses some interesting physical problems for the rest of the field.
Like his fellow competitors, he’s been chomping at the bit to get the tournament underway…for fifty thousand reasons.
“I feel like this has been long time coming and I am finally happy to get the opportunity to enter such a tournament.”
“Winning this tournament would give me the chance to finally focus 100% on my fighting career instead of juggling couple odd jobs on the side to make enough money to get by.”
It isn’t all about the Benjamins for Lintula though; the format presents a unique opportunity for the grappling standout to test his skills.
“Of course the prize money is the biggest but other than that there are five very good opponents and I am excited to see how I match up with them!”
Still, $50,000 isn’t the kind of prize that’s far from anyone’s mind in a tournament like this, and Lintula is no exception.
As someone who has always reinvested the fruits of his labour back into his development, September 7th represents a life-changing opportunity for the Finn.
“It feels almost unreal fighting for such money. It would be more than what I have made for all my previous fights together.”
“Everything I have ever made from fighting has gone back to my training and I don’t think this would be any different.”
“It would give me stability and a peace of mind so I could focus on the things that really matter.”
A BJJ blackbelt, Lintula will be looking to his elite level grappling to carry him through. Just don’t look for him to be changing things up too much for the tournament format.
The Sisu Gym man has a tried and true formula.
“My grappling and my experience will be my biggest strengths, (there’s been) no big changes in training.”
“There is only so much you can do in 4 weeks…the way I see it is that this will be the work of 10+ years!”
The welterweight #PrizeFighter Tournament goes down as part of CW 176 from Glasgow’s Braehead Arena on Saturday, September 7th.
