Welcome to the first of our PrizeFighter Previews; as we take a look at the six welterweights competing for an incredible $50,000 cash prize and a shot at the Cage Warriors welterweight title!

Marko Kisic
Age:
31
Record:
(10-4, 3 T/KO, 5 Sub)
Nationality:
Austrian

Making his Cage Warriors debut in the tournament, Kisic was quick to acknowledge the opportunity in front of him.

“PrizeFighter is the biggest opportunity I’ve had in my mixed martial arts career…” said the Austrian, “…I’m very grateful to be one of the six fighters who will get to showcase their skills on September 7th.”

“Winning the prize money would be a major achievement, as it’s incredibly challenging to make a living from this sport which I love.”

He was also quick to make clear how much of a lure the $50,000 cash prize was, and the impact it’d have on his life and career.

“I’ve never had this much money in my entire life, so winning the prize would be an incredible achievement…I would invest part of the money and save the rest to have something set aside for tough times.”

“I want to test myself against the best fighters, and in the near future, I hope to start a family with my girlfriend and build a happy life together.”

I’m confident that PrizeFighter will be a major stepping stone for my future career and being $50k richer would be amazing. I’m proud to represent Austria and will give my all to win the tournament.”

The PrizeFighter format presents unique challenge that the majority of current-generation fighters won’t have had to deal with: Multiple fights in one night.

Still, Kisic is nothing if not pragmatic.

“I train with my team at Basic Sportsclub and Atos Jiu-Jitsu in Vienna, preparing for all aspects of combat sports during my training camp.”

“I’m a strong all-rounder and will prepare specifically and tactically for each opponent in the tournament to ensure I’m ready.”

“I’ve never had two MMA fights in one night before, and I know it will be a tough challenge. I’m going to prepare myself as best as I can.”

With the hight and reach to mix it up on the feet and his strong grappling base, Kisic has all the tools to be a serious threat to his fellow PrizeFighters, but until the cage door locks, he has nothing but their best interests at heart.

“I wish each of my opponents an injury-free preparation so that we can all showcase our skills in the cage!”

The welterweight #PrizeFighter Tournament goes down as part of CW 176 from Glasgow’s Braehead Arena on Saturday, September 7th.
