French lightweight prospect Mehdi Ben Lakhdhar will take on returning veteran Paul Redmond on 26th June at CW 125.
Ben Lakhdhar comes into this bout off a KO win at CW 117 over Stevie McIntosh, while Redmond comes in looking for his first win in Cage Warriors since leaving the promotion in 2015.
Speaking on the announcement of the fight, Cage Warriors president, Graham Boylan, said: “This was a fight we just had to make.
“We have this incredible prospect in Mehdi Ben Lakhdhar, and he will be able to test himself against a veteran of the sport in Paul Redmond.
“This fight is going to be a cracker, both men having something to prove.”
Ben Lakhdhar has won three of his last four fights by way of knockout, with the only exception being a draw with Joe McColgan, who will challenge for lightweight gold on the same card.
Redmond comes into his fight with 15 wins, split evenly across knockouts, submissions and decisions.
Upon the news of his re-signing with Cage Warriors, “Redser” said: “I believe in one or two fights I will fight for the belt.
“I want to come in and hit the ground running, and if I do what I know I can do, I don’t see why I won’t be getting a call for a shot at the belt soon.”
Cage Warriors fans will be able to tune into the action on UFC Fight Pass and via Cage Warriors’ global broadcasting partners.
