Shaj Haque remains the Cage Warriors flyweight world champion after defending his belt in the main event of CW 192 London on Saturday night.
In a closely contested five-round battle, reigning champion Shajidul Haque defeated hometown favourite Jawany Scott. The judges’ split decision reflected the competitive nature of the bout.
In the co-main event, Shirzad Qadrian backed up his pre-fight talk by demolishing CW veteran Cameron Else in one round with a flawless performance in front of his loyal fans.
The No. 1 bantamweight contender had a long-standing beef with his opponent going into the fight, but it was all respect between the pair post-fight.
Leon Hill proved himself the “King of the Hills” by defeating Steven Hill on the main card. It was another clinical performance by “The Professional,” firmly establishing himself in the welterweight division.
It was a successful trip across the pond for Anthony Orozco, who delivered another dominant display against Luan Duarte, sweeping all three judges’ scorecards.
Weslley Maia cemented his place atop the bantamweight division with a trademark first-round rear-naked choke finish over Aidan Stephen, in true “Magic” style.
Opening the main card, Tariq Pell made yet another statement with a slick submission win over Adam Shelley.
On the prelims, bantamweights Jack Humphries and Ollie Sarwa secured career-best wins over Rory Evans and Damiano Scogna, respectively, placing themselves firmly in the bantamweight hunt.
“Fight of the Night” honours went to Rafael Aronov and Brad Wheeler, who delivered exactly the war fans had hoped for, much to the delight of those tuning in online.
There were also standout wins for Naglis Kanisauskas, Mitchell Goode, Tom Creasey, and debutant Yusuf Ali-Taleb, who all came out victorious at indigo at The O2.
