Breaking: Cage Warriors – Europe’s Leading MMA Organisation – has today confirmed a huge title unification bout in its stacked lightweight division. Champion Samuel Silva will return to face interim champion Omiel Brown at CW 202: Manchester.

Tickets for CW 202 are available here!

The pair will meet over five, five minute rounds at the city’s BEC Arena on Saturday, March 14th.

Brazil’s Silva (13-5-1) will be making the first defence of his title since capturing gold in an upset of then-champion George Hardwick at CW 186. ‘Caveira’ stunned the home crowd, outpointing the CW favourite in a bloody-brawl.

The performance earned Silva a spot on last Summer’s Dana White’s Contender Series, where he fell short against Mandel Nallo.

With Silva unavailable, CW held an interim title bout in June, where late replacement Omar Tugarev upset #1 contender James Power, before dropping the title to Omiel Brown in November.

Brown (12-3) previously won CW’s $50,000 PrizeFighter tournament at welterweight in 2024, and hold victories over Samuel Blasco, Edgar Escarrega and Jesse Urholin.

“Samuel Silva shocked the world when he beat a CW fan favourite on his debut…” said CW President Graham Boylan. “Now, one year on, he’s looking to repeat that performance.”

“Omiel Brown will have other plans though; he’s had a long journey to the top, and doesn’t plan on letting the title leave the UK.”

“There can be only one undisputed lightweight world champion, and we’ll find out who that is on March 14th!”

Further bouts are set to be announced in due course.
