Voting is underway for the Cage Warriors Best of 2025 Awards, where you – the CW fans – get to have your say on the most deserving fights, fighters and moments from what has been a blockbuster 12 months for Europe’s Leading MMA Organisation!

We’ve seen the crushing knockouts, now its time for the slick submissions! Flying armbars, ninja choke and good old-fashioned ligament manglers, 2025 had more than its fair share of tapping, snapping and napping!

The nominees are…

Gary Rooney’s Armbarย

ROOOOONEY!! It’s becoming a familier chant in Cage Warriors crowds and scene’s like this are exactly why. We could have nominated the ‘Rooney Choke’ against Gary Priestly from CW 194 just as easily, but it was this absolute stunner from ‘Squeeky’s debut in the Famous Yellow Gloves that ended up getting the nod.

Omiel Brown’s Bulldog Choke

Another rarity (we believe just the second in modern CW history after Nicolas Leblond snagged one a few years back), Omiel Brown’s Bulldog Choke over Edgar Escarrega was a sight to behold…largely because it came out of absolutely nowhere to catch the grappler unaware.

Daniel Konrad’s Flying Armbar

Look, no bias here…but if this doesn’t win Submission of the Year then there’s no justice in the world. It might be the best Cage Warriors submission of all time, certainly right up there alongside Enty’s flying heel hook or Paddy’s flying triangle. It’s simply not every day you see something like this, and we can’t stop watching it.

Torpal Merjoev’s Ninja Choke

Everyone loves a Ninja Choke. This one was particularly slick, no doubt, but there was more to it than that. That it was Merjoev’s debut, the level of opponent he caught with it in Teddy Stringer and the fact that he’d been under the cosh himself for the majority of the pervious round all added up.

Ryan Campbell’s Armbar

“Girl, you naaaasty” – Watch the slow motion replay of Ryan Campbell popping his opponent’s elbow out of joint and tell me that wasn’t the first phrase that popped into your head. Grim finish aside, this one was a masterpiece from set-up to snap. Makes your elbow twitch just thinking about it.
