Welsh stars take centre stage for Cage Warriors 87

Welsh welterweight star Lewis Long looks to push himself into title contention with a victory on home soil against rising Bosnian prospect Roberto Soldic on October 14th.

Cage Warriors returns to Wales for another sold out show with a jam-packed card of fights for the passionate Welsh MMA fans on October 14.

The event will showcase some of the best of Welsh mixed martial arts, with welterweight contender Lewis Long (15-4) looking to add to his impressive recent run of form and push himself into title contention in the Cage Warriors 170lb division.

Lew Long vs Roberto Soldic

Each of Long’s last three bouts finished in the first round and another quick finish could potentially propel the happy-go-lucky Welshman into a title fight with defending champion Karl Amoussou.

He faces dangerous Bosnian striker Roberto Soldic, who arrives in Wales to make his Cage Warriors debut with an impressive 11-2 record and a five-fight win streak, all by KO/TKO.

Welterweights also feature in the night’s co-main event, as former title challenger Matt Inman faces rising contender Craig ‘Thundercat’ White in an intriguing battle, while another of Wales’ outstanding prospects, featherweight Jack ‘Tank’ Shore, returns to action against fellow undefeated prospect, Italian Federico Mini.

Throw in bouts featuring Welsh fan favourites Aaron Khalid and Richard Williams, plus a packed professional and amateur undercards and it all adds up to an unmissable night of fights in Newport on October 14.
