With all six welterweights set to compete in the upcoming $50,000 PrizeFighter tournament confirmed, Cage Warriors – Europe’s Leading MMA Organisation – has today revealed final details of the blind draw that will confirm the opening round match-ups.
Tickets for CW 176 X PrizeFighter are available here!
The draw will take place on Wednesday, August 14th at 16:00 BTS, live on the Cage Warriors YouTube channel.
As with the previous edition, the first four fighters drawn out of the bag by Sky Sports presenter Matt Floyd will make up the semi-final brackets, with the remaining pair competing in a reserve bout.
Should one of the semi-finalists not be cleared to compete, the reserve bout winner will step into the finals in their place.
Should a semi-finalist not make weight for their bout, they will be removed from the tournament and replaced by the reserve fighter drawn first.
The six athletes confirmed to compete for the $50k prize are as follows…
Sean Clancy Jr – Considered one of the rising stars of European MMA, Scotland’s Sean Clancy Jr will be looking to bring home a victory – ideally two – for the home team!
Marko Kisic – The most experienced fighter in the tournament, Austria’s Kisic will be relying on his veteran savvy to carry him to glory.
Bourama Camara – At 6’4, Camara is a rangy striker from France, who trains under notable CW veteran Jean N’Doye.
Henri Lintula – Representing Finland’s Sisu Gym, grappling specialist Lintula will be looking to add to his already formidable list of submission victories.
Omiel Brown – A devastating KO artist and training partner of former UFC champion Leon Edwards, Brown has his eyes not only on the $50k prize, but also on a second shot at CW gold.
Jakob Scheffel – NCAA wrestler Jakob Scheffel is the tournament’s second undefeated fighter, and will be looking to follow in the footsteps of previous winner Shirzad Qadrian, using his mat pedigree to grind out victories.
Fighters will also have the opportunity to earn an additional $10,000 by nabbing the ‘Bounty Hunter Bonus’ – The first competitor to hit their predicted finish (round and method) will walk away with the bounty!
