With just over 24 hours to go until bell time, the athletes set to compete on Cage Warriors 195: Rome hit the scales at the city’s Hilton Hotel on Friday morning.

There was drama as the participants for CW 195’s middleweight championship main event took to the scales. Title holder Dario Bellandi looked trim and ready for action at 184.3lbs, however the same could not be said for his opponent. UFC veteran Claudio Ribeiro tipped the scales at 191lbs, a full 6lbs over championship weight.
Returning after the allotted two hour grace period, the Brazilian registered a final weight of 190.6lbs.
As a result, Bellandi’s team opted not to go forward with the fight.
As a result, a 161lb catchweight contest pitting hard-nosed Polish scrapper Adrian Kępa against Italian fan favourite Daniele Scatizzi will now serve as the evening’s main event.
Elsewhere, Jack Foote was also unable to make his contracted weight. After initially tipping the scales at 136.8lbs, he returned with just minutes to spare, but was only able to make 136.1. The bout will go ahead as scheduled, with Foote fined a percentage of his purse.
Fabiola Pidroni, Pietro Mochetti and Claudio Iancu also needed to make use of the two hour window to make their contracted weights, with all three doing so successfully.
A previously announced flyweight bout between Dylan Hazan and Igor Wojtas was removed from the card overnight, after Hazan had complications with his wight cut. Wojtas made weight successfully and will receive his full purse.
Cage Warriors 195 will now progress with 13 bouts, and a new prelim start time of 18:00 local time. The main card will commence at 20:30 as advertised.
