With just over 24 hours to go until bell time, the Cage Warriors 196 athletes hit the scales at Canary Wharf’s Hilton Hotel on Friday morning.

There was drama involving our main event as both bantamweight championship challengers missed weight, resulting in a cancelled bout. Shirzad Qadrian registered 138.1lbs, while Elton Armindo came in heavier at 142.8lbs.
The new main event – a 160lbs catchweight clash – is confirmed with Torpal Merjoev and Jordan Vucenic weighing in at 159.9lbs and 159.6lbs respectively.
Featherweight gold will still be up for grabs in the new co-main event. After two failed attempts, Solomon Simon successfully hit the 145lbs championship limit on his third try.
His opponent, Caique Araujo, came in over the required mark, meaning only Simon will be eligible to win the vacant title in the five-round bout.
Michelangelo Lupoli was also unable to make weight after multiple attempts at the 115lbs limit, but the top-contender bout will still proceed as planned.
A welterweight matchup between George McManus and Brad Wheeler has been scrapped after McManus was forced to withdraw due to illness.
While the scheduled strawweight opener between Carolan Olivares and Rhi-Rhi Hudson has been cancelled after Olivares missed weight at 122.3lbs.
