With just over 24 hours to go until bell time, the CW 199 athletes hit the scales at Newcastle’s Delta Hotel on Friday morning. Two title fights, plus pivotal bouts in the stacked Cage Warriors lightweight division will take pride of place on the final card of the year, despite some late drama on the scales.

Both Melvin van Suijdam and Sean Clancy Jr looked comfortable on the scales for their interim welterweight world title bout. The debuting Dutchman tipped the scales at 169.7lbs, while his Scottish counterpart followed moments later at 169.5lbs. The pair will meet over five rounds in the evening’s main event.
Drama ensued during the weigh-ins for the evening’s other title bout however. Champion Shaj ‘Superman’ Haque hit the 125lbs championship limit dead-on at the first time of asking, only for challenger Nicolas Leblond to fall short at 127.3lbs. The Frenchman returned to the scales with a minute to spare to register a weight of 125lbs.
George Hardwick, Leandro Carmigo and Railson Paixão also needed additional time to hit their marks, but all three did so comfortably within the allotted two hours.
Only Nicolas Barna was unable to make his contracted weight. The Uruguayan tipped the scales at 148.4lbs, and opted not to cut further weight. With opponent Josh Abraham (145.8lbs) agreeing to face him regardless, their bout will proceed as planned, with Barna forfeiting a percentage of his purse.
