Weigh-ins for Cage Warriors 154 took place at the Rome Hilton on Friday morning, ahead of Saturday night’s highly anticipated event at the Fiera Roma.
Tensions came close to boiling over as Caolan Loughran and Dylan Hazan faced off ahead of long-awaited clash for the vacant CW bantamweight title.
The pair had to be separated by CW officials after both making championship weight at 135lb even. While they eventually shook hands, the feeling in the room was that it was but a temporary ceasefire.
UFC veterans Darren Stewart (184.5lbs) and Carlo Pedersoli Jr (170.4lbs) both hit their marks for their main card bouts with Leon Aliu (186lbs) and Giannis Bachar (170.8lbs).
Of the thirty fighters stepping on the scales, only one – The Netherlands’ Gerardo Fanny – needed additional time to make weight. Originally weighing-in at 126.2lbs, the Dutch knockout artist returned within the two-hour window to tip the scales at 125.8lbs.
